The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
