Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 And take in thine hand a handful of twigs, and strike therewith, and break not thine oath. Verily We! We found him patient. How excellent a bondman! Verily he was oft-returning. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals, etc.), will be an evil final return (Fire), 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
