Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
