We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
