He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him you give attention. 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And hath fear, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 then eased his path for him, 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 and fruits and pastures – 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
