AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
