Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
