Corruption has appeared on land and sea with what the hands of the people earned. Therefore, they taste some of what they did in order that they return. 41 Say: "Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those before (you): Most of them worshipped others besides Allah." 42 Therefore in purity set your face to the religion, before there comes from Allah a Day that cannot be turned back. On that Day mankind will be separated. 43 Whoever disbelieves, then the calamity of his disbelief is only on him; and those who do good deeds, are preparing for themselves. 44 so that Allah may, out of His Bounty, reward those who believe and act righteously. Verily He does not love the unbelievers. 45 And among His Signs is this, that He sends the winds as glad tidings, giving you a taste of His Mercy (i.e. rain), and that the ships may sail at His Command, and that you may seek of His Bounty, in order that you may be thankful. 46 Verily We sent before thee (Muhammad) messengers to their own folk. Then we took vengeance upon those who were guilty (in regard to them). To help believers is ever incumbent upon Us. 47 Allah sends the winds that stir up clouds and then He spreads them in the sky as He pleases and splits them into different fragments, whereafter you see drops of rain pouring down from them. He then causes the rain to fall on whomsoever of His servants He pleases, and lo, they rejoice at it, 48 Although before it came down they were despondent. 49 Look at the traces of the mercy of God, how He has revived the dead earth. God revives the dead; He has power over all things. 50 But thus it is: if We send a wind [that scorches their land,] and they see it turn yellow, they begin, after that [erstwhile joy,] to deny the truth [of Our almightiness and grace]! 51 So verily thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away. 52 You cannot guide the straying blind. You can make no one listen except those who believe in Our revelations and are Muslims. 53
