The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
