Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
