Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
