He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 And grapes and clover, 28 Olives and dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
