Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. 4 we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against Allah!' 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
