And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." 85 Had We willed, We could take away what We have revealed to you, then you would find none to help you in recovering it from Us. 86 Unless your Lord have mercy. His blessings on you are great indeed. 87 Say: 'If men and jinn banded together to produce the like of this Koran, they would never produce its like, not though they backed one another.' 88 In this Quran, We have set out all kinds of examples for people, yet most of them persist in denying the truth. 89 And they say: We will by no means believe in you until you cause a fountain to gush forth from the earth for us. 90 or, until you own a garden of palms and vines and cause rivers to gush forth with abundant water in them; 91 Or thou causest the heaven to fall upon us, as thou assertest, in pieces, or thou bringest God and the angels face to face. 92 or till thou possessest a house of gold ornament, or till thou goest up into heaven; and we will not believe thy going up till thou bringest down on us a book that we may read. Say: 'Glory be to my Lord. Am I aught but a mortal, a Messenger?' 93
