The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
