The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
