Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
