The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
