Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
