Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the white forenoon 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
