Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
