Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in an exalted garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
