3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
