In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or orders piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
