The chiefs of Firon's people said: most surely this is an enchanter possessed of knowledge: 109 "His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?" 110 They said (unto Pharaoh): Put him off (a while) - him and his brother - and send into the cities summoners, 111 who should bring to you every skillful magician." 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant." 113 "Yes," said he, "you will be among the honoured." 114 They said, “O Moosa! And lo! it swallowed up all their false devices. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 Pharaoh and his men were defeated and put to shame, 119 And the wizards fell down prostrate, 120 They said: we believe in the Lord of the worlds. 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron.' 122 Said Pharaoh, "You believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a conspiracy which you conspired in the city to expel therefrom its people. But you are going to know. 123 “I swear I will cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides and then crucify you all.” 124 They replied: 'We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!" 126
