Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
