۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 What, do we then not die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
