Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

THE AVARICE OF plenitude keeps you occupied 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 Again lo! presently ye shall know. 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
