Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
