۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious, 67
