The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 who give charity, 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
