The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
