In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We showed him the right path whether he would be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 [saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy. 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 They will recline therein on couches and they will find neither excessive heat nor cold. 13 And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. 16 And they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 And when thou lookest them thou shalt behold delight and a dominion magnificent. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
