Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 and the severally severing 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
