And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
