Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood [i.e. the people of Madyan (Midian) to whom Prophet Shu'aib was sent by Allah), were also Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.). 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
