The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
