The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
