The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
