AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 We restored to him his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ And with them will be women limiting [their] glances and of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 Taste the scalding water, pus, and other putrid things". 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And will add: "O what has happened to us that we do not see the men we counted among the wicked. 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 Indeed this is really true – the people of the hell quarrelling among themselves. 64
