In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
