The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 that hide, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
