S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 This is only a small army out of the several armies that will suffer defeat here. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
