Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
