When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
