Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
