HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
