Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
