Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In extending columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
