AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 "Go swiftly to the spring," (We said). "This cold water is for bathing and for drinking." 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 'This is what you were promised for the Day of Reckoning; 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
